Dubai Land Department, abbreviated as DLD, works under the Executive Council of Dubai and provides a wide range of real-estate-related services. DLD is headed by HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. The services include property sales and purchases documentation, real estate ownership issuing, organising and promoting investments, etc. The department aims to provide excellent services to its customers and to facilitate transactions, set by the Emirates 2021 plan.
In the year of 2013, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued Law No. (7) 2013, that defines the objectives of Dubai Land Department as the governmental entity that is responsible for the registration, promotion, as well as organisation real estate investments in Dubai, UAE.
The Law strives to offer an engaging platform for the investments by executing international standards to improve the growth and development of this real estate in the economy. DLD also helps to improve land registration methods and procedures based on the updated international systems and methods in the real estate sector.
DLD sets enactments to manage the association between all contracting parties and sorts out the trade cycle of properties. The division offers numerous types of assistance to customers in Dubai, extending its functions to planning, coordinating, and assessing operations that relate to the real estate licenses, and improvement of real estate projects, just as a guarantee to screen activities monetarily and technically to secure investors.
